Our Mission

CannabisTravelLaws publishes general legal information about cannabis laws in the United States for the benefit of travelers, tourists, and medical patients. Our editorial mission is accuracy, plain language, and practical usefulness — not advocacy for or against cannabis use or policy.

Who Produces Our Content

Content is produced for CannabisTravelLaws, operated by Herbdeliveries.com LLC. The editorial team researches laws directly from primary sources including official state statutes, cannabis control board publications, TSA.gov, and federal regulatory guidance. We do not accept sponsored articles or allow advertisers to influence editorial content.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

We use AI language models to draft, summarize, and structure content. News articles are generated from available news sources and automatically published after automated content-format checks, without human editorial approval. AI can make mistakes; readers should verify legal claims against current official sources before acting on them.

AI-drafted content is:

  • Based on publicly available primary sources (government websites, statutes, regulatory publications) and reputable news sources
  • Automatically checked for required article fields and unsafe HTML before news publication
  • Published automatically in the News section without a human review gate
  • Identified in the editorial record as AI-assisted, even when not labeled on the page

We do not represent AI-generated content as the work of a named human author unless a human has materially reviewed, edited, and approved the piece.

News Content: How We Source and Summarize

Our News section covers cannabis travel law developments using an editorial model built around original commentary on publicly reported events. Here is how that process works:

  • Source identification: We monitor primary government sources (TSA.gov, DEA, state legislature websites, cannabis control boards) and reputable cannabis news outlets including Marijuana Moment, MJBizDaily, and NORML for relevant legal developments.
  • Original angle: Every news article is written from the cannabis traveler's perspective — what a specific law change or enforcement development means for people crossing state lines, flying, or traveling with cannabis. This editorial angle is our own and is not copied from source material.
  • No verbatim reproduction: We do not reproduce full articles or substantial passages from third-party copyrighted sources. We summarize publicly reported facts and link to the original source. Government publications (TSA.gov, DEA, state statutes, court decisions) are in the public domain and may be quoted directly.
  • Source attribution: Every article that references a specific news event or primary source includes a visible source attribution link. We credit original reporting.
  • No more than brief quotation: When we quote copyrighted sources, we limit quotation to brief factual passages (generally no more than 50 words) consistent with fair use principles.

Primary Sources We Use

  • Official state cannabis statutes and legislative texts (public domain)
  • State cannabis control board and regulatory agency publications (public domain)
  • TSA.gov official guidance on prohibited and permitted items (public domain)
  • Federal Register and DEA scheduling publications (public domain)
  • Court decisions affecting cannabis travel and possession law (public domain)
  • LegiScan bill tracking data for state legislative developments
  • Marijuana Moment, MJBizDaily, NORML News (referenced and linked, not reproduced)

Terms and Conditions Compliance

We take intellectual property rights seriously. Our content practices are designed to comply with the terms of service of sources we reference:

  • US Government content: Federal and state government publications are in the public domain under 17 U.S.C. § 105 and may be freely reproduced. We credit the source nonetheless.
  • News outlets: We do not reproduce article text from AP, Reuters, Marijuana Moment, MJBizDaily, or other copyrighted outlets. We reference the story, summarize the newsworthy facts, and link back to the original publication.
  • LegiScan: We reference LegiScan bill data as a tracking tool. We do not republish their database UI or proprietary aggregations — only publicly available bill text and status.
  • Fair use: Brief quotation of copyrighted material for commentary, news reporting, and information purposes is protected fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107. Our summarization model — original angle, brief quotation, source credit — is consistent with established fair use practice.

How We Handle Legal Accuracy

Cannabis law changes frequently — sometimes monthly. Every article on this site includes a "Last Updated" date. We review high-traffic pages at minimum quarterly and update them when laws change materially. Our news articles are updated when we become aware of material changes to the information they contain.

All content is presented as general legal information only — not legal advice. No content on this site creates an attorney-client relationship. Readers should verify information with official state sources before making travel decisions, and consult a licensed cannabis attorney for advice specific to their situation.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe any content on this site is incorrect, outdated, or misleading, please contact us at support@herbdeliveries.com. We commit to reviewing credible corrections within 5 business days. When we correct a factual error, we note the correction at the bottom of the affected article.

Publishing and SEO Expansion Checklist

News articles are automatically published to the live database with a unique route, publication date, source attribution, and article metadata. Automated format and HTML checks do not establish legal accuracy. Destination guides follow the site's separate legal-data monitoring process.

The news index, article pages, and sitemap read the same live publication status. Published news does not require a separate search-promotion step or a site rebuild. Administrators may hide or remove an article; unpublished articles are excluded from public news and the sitemap.

Affiliate and Partner Links

Some links on this site point to partner sites including weedtravelguides.com and herbdeliveries.com. These links are clearly labeled as external resources. Partner links do not influence our editorial content or legal information.

Advertising

We do not currently run display advertising. We connect readers with cannabis attorneys through a lead generation form. Attorney placements are paid placements and are clearly identified as such. These commercial relationships do not affect our legal information content.
